A new generation has been raised without every knowing what life was like without the internet or cell phones or other technologies that we take for granted. Yet, in developing countries where the raw materials for our devices is mined and produced little has changed. It's time that we give back and share the benefits of this new world. Many of us purchase fair trade coffee and organic food, yet, how to we apply these practices to the technology purchases we make every year. We believe that the best way to share in the wealth our technologies bring us, is to do so directly on a person to person basis with the communities that produce lithium and other raw materials.
In 2021 the generations raised on the internet will band together do something that has never been done before. We will each contribute a small donation to create a large endowment, then challenge national or local governments in the communities where the raw materials for our technologies are produced to submit proposals on how they will distribute these funds as broadly efficiently as possible. Each August 1st, as donors, we will vote on the proposals submitted before releasing the funds into the deserving communities. Each year we will review and grade the success of our donations and repeat the process year after year.
